madvertise is a team of mobile advertising specialists and offers the biggest reach of mobile websites and applications for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. madvertise provides a technology and platform specially geared to mobile requirements, enabling campaigns to be quickly and efficiently set up without advertising wastage. madvertise totally specializes in mobile banner ads – and this is our strength. We achieve the very best campaign results for our advertisers and the highest effective CPMm and CPCs on the market for our publishers and app developers.

How much does it cost to advertise on the madvertise network?

madvertise offers various packages for mobile advertising campaigns. They range from small start-up packages to products like our App-KatAPPult, which guarantees a top ranking in the app store’s respective category. In fact we’re the only people in the world to offer a guarantee like this! For an individual quotation, simply write to support [at] madvertise.de.

Where will my advertising be placed?

The madvertise network consists of a large number of mobile websites and mobile apps. All in all, we have access to over 700 million page impressions per month. In order to offer everyone involved the highest possible quality, we make sure only reputable publishers and advertisers are included in our network.

What billing models are supported by madvertise?

Our network can be used for premium campaigns on a CPM basis and for performance campaigns on a CPC basis.

Can I test-drive a campaign on special terms?

We offer special start-up packages for small test bookings.

What banner formats do you need from me?

We can deliver all standard MMA banners and also a number of special formats. The exact specifications you can find in our media kit.

What targeting options does madvertise offer?

What needs to be taken into account when developing a mobile landing page?

Landing pages should be optimized for the size of mobile devices:

  • Narrow pages with no vertical scrolling
  • Clear layout
  • No Flash: Most smartphones don’t support  Flash
  • Keep the amount of data down: minimize the number of images per page, use low-quality images
  • Since mobile phones are usually slower than domestic broadband, too many high-quality images means lengthy website load times, causing many users to give up and go elsewhere.
  • Keep navigation simple: Some devices and operating systems don’t allow multiple tabs.

    How much will it cost to market my site or app?

    There are no set-up charges. Joining our network is free!

    Am I exclusively tied to madvertise?

    No. We trust in our expertise and the quality of our advertising clients. Quality is our calling card!

    If I’m a publisher, can I still place an advertising campaign with madvertise?

    Of course you can! Just send an email to support [at] madvertise.de – we’ll be delighted to advise you and set up an account for advertisers!

    Why isn’t any advertising displayed in my account?

    No suitable campaign at present:

    • Request doesn’t meet the targeting criteria
    • Targeting may for example exclude certain network providers.
    • Some campaigns aren’t delivered via WLAN.
    • Many campaigns are restricted to certain handsets or device classes.
    • User agent not identified: Rarely used devices may not be recognized, at least not the first time. They’re joined by new handsets every day whose characteristics first have to be included in the database. This is done regularly, but not on the fly, i.e. not during request submitted by publishers.
    • Desktop traffic is not served by madvertise.

      What’s the difference between MMA and IAB banner ads?

      MMA banner ads have an aspect ratio of 6:1:

      • 320×53 pixels (iPhone)
      • 300×50 pixels
      • 218×36 pixels
      • 168×28 pixels
      • 120×20 pixels
      • IAB banner ads are 300×250 pixels in size.

        What do I have to remember when integrating different banner types?

        Less space is required on mobile websites and apps for MMA banner ads. Judging by experience, click rates are higher for IAB than MMA banners.

          How can I monitor what advertising is being shown on my mobile advertising space?

          You can activate and deactivate advertising campaigns for your own advertising space at any time using your login.

          How can I maximize my click rate?

          Make sure advertising is positioned in a manner which is as visible as possible.
          When setting up a mobile website or apps, categories should be chosen which match the content of the inventory to ensure advertising is relevant to content.

            How will I receive my revenue?

            To be able to remit payment to you by direct transfer, your banking details and contact information must first be logged at your account with the madvertise Self Service. madvertise automatically remits payment monthly whenever earnings exceed €100.

              What does ‘ad rotation’ mean?

              Ad rotation usually means loading new advertising. This function has been natively integrated within the madvertise SDKs and can be used directly. Under the standard setting, a new ad will be requested by madvertise every 30 seconds.

                What sort of advertising does madvertise show?

                madvertise only shows reputable advertising. Moreover, providers of mobile inventory are obliged to show advertising from madvertise solely on mobile websites or within apps which are reputable. For more information, please read madvertise’s general terms and conditions.

                  What possibilities do I have to retrieve advertising?

                  Advertising can be retrieved within applications by using the madvertise SDKs. For this purpose, madvertise has developed an iPhone SDK and an Android SDK.
                  Advertising can be very easily retrieved on mobile websites by means of a code snippet (a small piece of code).
                  Furthermore, the madvertise interface can be used via the HTTP API to receive advertising.

                    What versions of iOS (Apple’s operating system for mobile devices) are supported by the madvertise SDK?

                    The madvertise SDK currently supports iOS3 and iOS4. madvertise provides active support from iOS version 3.1.3 upwards.

                      What versions of Android are supported by the madvertise SDK?

                      The madvertise SDK currently supports all versions from Android 1.6.
                      We currently provide active support from version 2.1 upwards. Unfortunately, we cannot at present provide GIF support for Android 2.2.

                        How can I show a number of ads at the same time?

                        A number of ads can be shown simultaneously by producing more than one instance of MadvertiseView and then using the function LoadAdWithDelegate.

                        How will I know when a new version of the SDK is available?

                        All users of madvertise’s SelfService will be notified as soon as madvertise has published a new version of the SDK, assuming they have already integrated a madvertise SDK and have sent corresponding requests to madvertise.

                        What is a code snippet?

                        A code snippet is a small piece of program code that can be integrated by a mobile website developer on their site in order to retrieve advertising from madvertise.
                        The code snippets made available by madvertise are programming examples which use the madvertise API.

                          How do I use a code snippet?

                          In order to use a code snippet, a mobile website must first be registered the madvertise Self Service. The program code can then be integrated as explained in the instructions.
                          Whenever anybody visits the mobile website, this code snippet will retrieve advertising from madvertise. As long as a suitable ad is available, it will be transmitted by madvertise.
                          Suitable code snippets are available for Ruby on Rails, Java SE and PHP.
                          For other programming languages, you will have to completely implement the interface for the madvertise API by yourself.
